Hyannis

Hyannis is the largest village in Barnstable and is often considered the center of Cape Cod. It serves as a main hub for shopping, restaurants, ferries, and transportation throughout the region.

Originally a fishing and waterfront community, Hyannis is now driven largely by tourism, along with healthcare, retail, fishing, and other local businesses. Many people think of it as Cape Cod’s downtown area.

Beaches

Hyannis has some of the warmest water on Cape Cod, with sandy beaches on Nantucket Sound. Popular spots include Kalmus Beach, which is good for windsurfing, and Veterans Beach, which is popular with families. For parking, permits, and amenities, check the official website
